Billings City Council increases water rates

Billings, Montana – The city of Billings council increased water and sewer rates on their Monday meeting. A special rate tier was created for businesses which re-sell water to customers outside the city.

With a vote of 8-3, the city council immediately approved the increase of the water rates by 4 %.

No Cash Water, LLC representative complained about the 7% water rates increase for services like his at the meeting. He stated that he has only managed to break even in providing a quality service in 20 years of service.

Reliable Water Service and Fisher Water Service are the other two companies which are impacted by the increase to re-sellers.

Sewer rates will rise less than 4%.

Every two years, the city changes water and sewer rates. A resident uses around 8,000 gallons of water each month.
