Candy prices increasing before Halloween

Billings, Montana – If you haven’t bought your Halloween candy yet, be prepared for sticker shock, as prices have increased this year.
According to CNBC, a 100-count Mars Chocolate Favorites bag cost $5.89 at Walgreens in 2019. A 100-count Mars Chocolate bag was $12.99 this weekend, with a 40% discount on the second bag if you bought two.
A 400-count bag of Mars Chocolates cost $16.24 apiece if you bought two at Target in 2019, according to the 2019 report. While there was no precise comparison available, Target’s website had a 455-Count Mars Chocolates bag for $29.99.
This year, according to the National Retail Federation, the average consumer will spend $102.84. This is a $10 increase over the previous year.
