Executive Director of Yellowstone Art Museum announces departure

Billings, Montana – Executive Director Bryan Knicely announced he’ll leave the Yellowstone Art Museum for another opportunity. He expressed gratitude for the community in his departure.
“It has been a great pleasure working here and engaging with the diverse cultural community, along with those who support it. Thank you for entrusting me with this cultural gem. It will continue to grow and amaze you,” said Knicely.
Museum officials thanked Knicely on Wednesday for the cooperation so far.
“We are grateful for Bryan’s experience and leadership, especially through COVID-19. While other museums across the country had to close up or drastically reduce services, Bryan navigated us through those rough waters and maintained YAM’s programs and finances in a good position for the future,” Deborah Anspach said, President of YAM’s Board of Trustees.
Knicely was named Executive Director in March 2018 and since then, he and his team gained national attention partnering with other prominent museums and foundations, completed two of the best art auctions in the museum’s history and completed a long-range plan that can grow as the Yellowstone Art Museum grows.
Nationwide search will be conducted for new Executive Director of Yellowstone Art Museum.
