Glacier Park’s October Visits Up 60 Percent From Last Year

Over 125,000 visitors entered Glacier National Park in October. Park officials say that’s a 60 percent increase in visitation numbers over the same time last year.
The average number of visitors in October for the past three years is about 85,000.
The park was closed to visitors from late March to early June. For much of the summer, park visitation has been down from previous year’s marks.
The Blackfeet Nation, which borders the park, closed road access to Glacier’s east entrances in June due to COVID-19 concerns. Visitors were required to enter and exit Going-to-the-Sun Road via the west entrance.
The west entrances continue to be the only access point for the park during the winter season.
