Gold Star Award November 2023: Sarah Healy

Billings, Montana – We are recognizing a professional in Yellowstone County education for November 2023, in recognition of her efforts to maintain her classroom lively and stimulating for her students.
Sarah Healy is an elementary school teacher at Poly Drive Drive. She was recommended by one of her coworkers, who claims that even after seeing Healy in action, she is still learning what makes a great teacher. That involves helping her kids discover the joy in learning new things and showing them kindness, patience, and support.
“I just love working with kids and being able to see that light bulb moment and watch them grow,” she said. “Kindergarten is a great year to see the growth because they come in not knowing a lot and just being able to teach them not only how to read but how to be a good human.”
Other parents of children in Mrs. Healey’s classes report that their children have improved their reading skills as a result of her instruction and that they look forward to her morning session.
