NAFSA RISE Fellow is named for the coordinator of the Office of International Studies at MSU Billings

Billings, Montana – The Association of International Educators Representation, Inclusion, Support and Empowerment (NAFSA RISE) Fellow for the 2024–2025 cohort has been named Alisa Batchelor, the coordinator for international student and scholar services at the Montana State University Billings Office of International Studies.
Batchelor becomes the first person from Montana to be named a NAFSA RISE Fellow, joining a class of 11 fellows in the 2024–2025 cohort. More than 140 people applied this year for the program’s available spots.
“The fact the premier U.S. association of international educators has chosen Alisa for this highly competitive fellowship is truly an indication of her success at MSUB and her potential,” says Paul M. Foster, executive director of the Office of International Studies. “We are honored to have such a hard-working and dedicated person working in International Studies.”
The two-year program Batchelor will participate in is part of the RISE Fellowship. She will participate in the NAFSA Academy for International Education for the first year, where she will get individualized coaching, acquire knowledge and skills to get ready to be a resource for international education and build her network. During her second year, Batchelor will have the chance to apply what she has learned by using international education to positively benefit MSU Billings and the Billings community.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the upcoming NAFSA RISE Fellows’ cohort and to further develop my role in the field of international education,” says Batchelor. “I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to broaden my expertise and engage with colleagues from across the nation. I am immensely grateful for this opportunity and extend my appreciation to my MSUB team for supporting and encouraging me to take on new challenges.”
Batchelor has worked for MSU Billings for five years and is an international education management master’s degree holder.
