Pack the Place in Pink raises awareness to breast cancer sufferers and offers financial support
Billings, Montana – The non-profit organization ” Pack the Place in Pink ” aims to support individuals afflicted with breast cancer financially while also assisting in the state’s breast cancer awareness campaign.
The group staged ” Pack the Place in Pink,” an event at the Rimrock Mall that featured a fashion show, silent auction, and raffle showcasing breast cancer survivors to highlight their experiences following diagnosis.
According to Wendy Penrod, a volunteer with the charity and a breast cancer survivor, “95 cents of every dollar raised goes to a breast cancer patient in Montana.”
Penrod was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, a kind of breast cancer. It has been five years since she finished her treatment and overcame cancer.
“I’m not going to say my journey was easy by any means, but it is survivable,” Penrod added.
The organization hopes that more people will seek out and ask for help from options that are most convenient for them. The money donated will be sent to those in need of assistance following a breast cancer diagnosis.
“To be eligible, an individual must reside in Montana and have a diagnosis. We want to see more people approaching us for assistance,” Penrod remarked.
