Person rescued from Clark Fork River

MISSOULA — Missoula Fire Department responded to a person drowning at the Clark Fork River Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

MFD immediately responded downstream at the Van Buren footbridge with Rescue Water Craft, a UTV for river access, 2 Fire Engines and a Rescue Truck.

MFD personnel arrived in the area of the last seen location and saw the victim floating downstream of the Van Buren footbridge.

First arriving Engine crews were able to leave from shore and retrieve the victim from the river.

The victim was conscious and doing well after he was transferred to a waiting ambulance.
