Billings, Montana – The Nile Cattle Drive is returning to the Magic City after a ten-year break.

Director of The Billing Industrial Revitalization District Michelle Harkins expressed her excitement in working with the Nile to revive the Cattle Drive in Billings.

According to Michelle, this year’s cattle drive will take place in the East Billings Urban Renewal District instead of downtown as it has in past years.

There are farm and ranch supply stores all over the region, which is close to MetraPark. It’s the ideal location to start a rodeo because it’s close to the auction yard.

“You know, we have the big one that came through in the 80s, and some people want to see that again. We wanted to work with them, bring back the tradition that some younger kids have not gotten to see yet and people from my generation wanted to see again.” They want their grandchildren and children to witness it.

There will be some road restrictions for the day to allow the livestock to move securely.

The cattle drive will begin on 13th Street, travel down 2nd Avenue, veer off at 17th Street, and then down 3rd Avenue again.

According to her, the streets would close at 6 a.m. to make room for the animals and reopen between 1 and 2 p.m.

This Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., The Nile is a free festival including food trucks, live music, and family-friendly activities.
