Billings, Montana – Stroke patients now have access to an innovative treatment option thanks to St. Vincent Healthcare.

After a person has suffered a stroke, they may be candidates for a surgical procedure called a thrombectomy, which involves the removal of a blood clot from a blood vessel.

Now, patients who live in Montana have the ability to receive treatment of that kind immediately without having to leave the state.

“I’m so grateful I’m able to have gotten the procedure and get better,” said Patricia Miller, a patient at St. Vincent.

Miller revealed that she has been undergoing speech and physical therapy at St. Vincent since December as a result of a stroke that she experienced in October of last year.

“Something happens in your life that’s not normal, but my family are my angels,” said Miller.

Miller concluded by expressing her gratitude for the way her rehabilitation has improved both her physical and mental health, as well as her hope that other people who have suffered strokes will seek the appropriate care they require.
