Cascade County reports the first flu death of the season in Montana

Great Falls, Montana – On Friday, October 6, 2023, the Cascade City-County Health Department declared that a person under 50 years old passed away in Cascade County last week as a result of influenza.
It was Montana’s first death of the 2023–2024 respiratory sickness season, which occurred last week.
According to a news release from the CCHD, 14 Cascade County people passed away from influenza between 2018 and 2022.
In Cascade County, 18 cases of influenza have been confirmed in the last four weeks, three of which required hospital stays.
