Billings, Montana – Dino the Dinosaur has returned to the Sinclair petrol station on Broadwater Avenue, one year later.

“We’re really happy to celebrate his return,” said Shay Grinsell, the owner of the Sinclair gas station.

In 2022, Dino was vandalized after being taken and discovered with his head severed by a North Park staff member.

“It was terrible that it happened, but the community really supported us and wanted him back,” explained Grinsell.

After Sinclair bought the gas station a new dinosaur, more security is now in place to ensure that Dino isn’t taken again.

“We have the bottom of Dino strapped down by these metal plates so he can’t get stolen again.”

Dino the Dinosaur was welcomed back to the gas station with a party.

“He’s going to be around a lot longer now,” said Richard Pilon, a guest at the celebration.

“My wife Tina and I have a special connection with Dino. I took a photo of her on a different Dino at the Sinclair in Red Lodge a few years ago, and we always have that memory. It’s great they got him back, and people can try to make new memories,” explained Pilon.

Grinsell is appreciative of the community’s assistance throughout the vandalism incident.

“I appreciated so much of the support we got from customers and on social media. He’s become a big name for us and everyone around the area, so we’re really excited.”
