Fans gather at Billings bars to watch Super Bowl
Billings, Montana – Bars in Billings were packed on Sunday as Super Bowl LVIII got underway, with supporters cheering for their team.
“It’s wild, there’s a lot of red,” said San Francisco 49ers fan Jessica Loyning.
One of the founding members of the Billings Niners Faithful is Loyning. A few members would watch the games together at another member’s place when the group first got together.
“A couple of us just met at Lukas’s house honestly. We made pho every single Sunday and we watched the 49ers game. So it was our pho-te niners,” Loyning said while laughing.
The gang now gets together to watch 49ers games at Craft B&B. The bar was crowded on Super Bowl Sunday with supporters yelling their team’s name.
“We’re from all walks of life, you know. Different jobs, different everything, you know, but we all have one common thing and it’s the 49ers, and it’s so fun to all get together with other people and share that same interest and root on our team,” Loyning said.
There was Kansas City Chiefs red in the crowd at Hooligan’s Sports Bar.
“I’m from Kansas City, Missouri. Missouri, not Kansas,” Terry Lord said.
This past weekend, Lord went to Billings for work. He has been a Chiefs fan for as long as he can remember, so he was happy to find a place like Hooligan’s to support his team.
“Since I was able to think feelings, basically,” Lord said.
