Irrigation canal seepage causes closure of Lake Elmo dog park in Billings

Billings, Montana – According to a release from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, the off-leash dog park at Lake Elmo State Park in Billings was temporarily closed on Monday after it was converted into a muddy bog due to seepage from a local irrigation canal.
The park’s fully fenced area is the only place where visitors can let their pets off the leash.
The dog park will remain closed until the ground dries out enough to avoid damage.
