Man escaped a bank robbery in downtown Billings on a MET bus

Billings, Montana – A man was charged on Monday in Yellowstone County District Court of robbing a bank in the heart of Billings before boarding a MET bus to flee.
Elmore Brady Jr., 67, was due in court to be charged with felony robbery. In addition to being charged with a felony probation violation, Bday is being held in the Yellowstone County jail.
Brady was apprehended on Thursday shortly after 3:30 p.m. when police were called to a robbery at the Stockman Bank, 402 North Broadway, according to a press statement from the Billings Police Department.
According to the press statement, a suspect entered the bank and threatened to hurt the employee with a firearm while demanding money from a bank employee.
After leaving the bank, the suspect made an attempt to leave the area on a Billings MET bus, according to police.
“MET transit was alerted to the incident and contacted dispatch to advise the suspect was on the bus,” police said in the press release.
The guy subsequently made an attempt to escape the bus, but responding police officers caught him. After the suspect was apprehended, police stated they found the bank money and a weapon on him.
Brady reportedly had prior felony convictions in Yellowstone County for kidnapping, drug possession, and chronic criminal offender for drug possession, according to state prison records.
