Billings, Montana – Q2, The Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools, City Brew Coffee, and Western Security Bank have partnered on “One Class at a Time.” Teachers that go above and above to support their pupils are recognized by the program.

Meet Lisa Garner, a preschool teacher who has spent more than 40 years teaching children in Georgia, Idaho, and now Billings. She is a storehouse of information and love for young brains.

“It’s so fun,” said Mrs. Garner. “They’re the cutest thing. They just amaze me every day and make me laugh every day. Their take on life is brilliant. I enjoy it so much.”

She is aware of how crucial it is to involve parents in their children’s education.

“Because we’re a partnership and if we’re all on the same page with everything then the kids’ days just go so much more smoothly,” she said. “It’s just good to have a good relationship with the parents.”

What lessons does Mrs. Garner want her students to remember as they continue their education?

“A love of learning and knowing that they were loved in class and that they felt safe,” she said.

Mrs. Garner received a $500 award from the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools, which is proudly sponsored by Western Security Bank, as well as a $150 gift card from City Brew Coffee, for being a teacher who is very compassionate, caring, thoughtful, and friendly.
