Reminder to register with the County Superintendent of Schools for parents and guardians planning to homeschool

Billings, Montana – The County Superintendent of Schools would like to remind parents and guardians who want to educate their children at home during the 2023-2024 academic year that they must register their children with the office of the superintendent.
According to section 20-5-109 of the Montana Compiled Statutes, the county superintendent of schools needs to be notified of the student’s attendance during each school year in order for the student to be excluded from compulsory enrollment.
Registration for children living in Yellowstone County is possible through the submission of a written form to the County Superintendent of Schools at the following address: PO Box 35022, Billings, Montana 59107.
Sherry Long, the Superintendent of Schools for Yellowstone County, can be reached at the above location or by calling (406) 256-6933 if you have any questions.
