Section of Zimmerman Trail will be closed for routine repair

Billings, Montana – On Wednesday, September 13, Zimmerman Trail will be closed from Rimrock Road to Highway 3 for routine repair.
The route, which brings West End traffic up and down the Rims, will be maintained and repaired by Billings’ Street/Traffic Division as part of its annual maintenance.
Brothers Frank and Joseph Zimmerman, who resided in the valley and grazed their flock on the Rims, constructed the road originally as a sheepherding trail.
Detours will be in place, and city workers advise that drivers take alternate routes.
