Wildfire near Broadus burns 3,500 acres, reported to be mostly contained

Broadus, Montana – It was just recently discovered that there is a wildfire now raging close to Broadus, to the north of Highway 212 E.
As of Tuesday night, the Hay Draw fire had burned a total of 3,500 acres and was just 30 percent contained.
The Broadus Volunteer Fire Department reports that as of Wednesday morning, the fire has been contained for the most part, and workers will now focus on mopping up and burning certain areas of smoldering fuel to put the fire completely out.
There is a possibility that people in the region will observe smoke plumes.
