22nd COVID-19 death reported in Yellowstone Co.

BILLINGS — RiverStone Health officials reported Monday Yellowstone County’s 22nd COVID-19-related death, a woman in her 90s.

The woman died Saturday at a Billings hospital. No other information will be released to respect her privacy, according to RiverStone.

“We offer our heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family and loved ones,” said John Felton, Yellowstone County health officer and RiverStone Health president and CEO. “Since Saturday, July 18, seven Yellowstone County residents have passed away due to COVID-19 related illness, making last week the deadliest yet. As case counts continue to rise in Yellowstone County and across the state, each of us must continue to be vigilant in taking measures to prevent COVID-19 – wear a mask, watch your distance, wash your hands and stay home when you are sick.”

This most recent death has been reflected on the state’s COVID-19 tracking map.

Yellowstone County has 483 active cases of COVID-19, and 388 people have recovered. The county has 893 cumulative cases since the outbreak began.
