Body of missing snowmobiler found near West Yellowstone

West Yellowstone, Montana – On Wednesday evening, the body of a missing snowmobiler was found near West Yellowstone.
A request for help in finding a missing snowmobiler on the Little Snowy Trail, 2 miles west of town, was received on Wednesday at 5:20 p.m., according to the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office. A search and rescue team from the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office in West Yellowstone responded to the call at that time.
A person who was riding with the missing snowmobiler got separated and was unable to find their riding partner. They eventually came back to town and called the West Yellowstone Police Department to report what happened.
The body of the missing snowmobiler was found thanks to the efforts of the Search and Rescue volunteers.
“We are very sorry to report that the individual was deceased at the scene. The sheriff’s office is not releasing any other information at this time, pending an investigation and notification to the family,” the press release stated.
