Cooney State Park lake closed to public

Montana – Official announced that water at Cooney State Park will be closed to the public for a while. The decision for the closure was made in order to help aircrafts in the fight with Robertson Draw fire.
People will be allowed to fish from the bank but not out in the reservoir.
“You cannot go swimming, you cannot go boating, paddle boarding, etc. Anything that has to do with you being in or on the water is closed at the moment,” said Matt Ladd, a game warden Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
Activities that do not include public being on or in the water will be also allowed.
The restriction will last until firefighters no longer use the lake to battle fires.
