Hiker gets lost near Big Sky, rescued later by crews

Big Sky, Montana – A hiker was rescued this weekend after being lost on Porcupine Creek Trail near Big Sky .
The hiker became disoriented while hiking on Porcupine Creek Trail and requested assistance from Gallatin County Sheriff Search and Rescue in Big Sky on Saturday around 6:17 p.m.
Volunteers used dirt bike and a side by side UTV while transporting the stranded hiker safely out to the trailhead.
Sheriff Springer urges people willing to recreate outdoors to: know their route, carry a reliable means of communication and travel with someone.
