Information about the shooting on Saturday night from the Billings Police Department

Billings, Montana – More details about a homicide from the Billings Police Department (BPD) were released on Saturday night.
BPD said that officers were first sent to the carnival on 1st Ave. N because several young people were allegedly claiming people they had firearms.
Before there were reports of gunfire, dispatch received calls regarding a big group of children rampaging around the park and beating a victim who was attempting to flee in a car while some of them were wearing masks.
Most of the juveniles involved were running away when police arrived in the area.
A 20-year-old male was identified as the victim after the victim’s car was discovered in the parking lot.
Detectives from the BPD were contacted, and they are now looking into the matter. As of Sunday am, detectives are still on the scene at the carnival.
Officers have located and identified a person of interest.
Officers also made an effort to track down as many witnesses and participants as they could.
