Helena, Montana – The State of Montana stopped updating its COVID-19 tracking dashboard on Friday, May 5, 2023.

Prior to the national public health emergency’s closure on May 11, 2023, the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) made an announcement last month saying it would stop providing updates.

321 current cases are shown in the state in the most recent update. The only county in Montana with a moderate degree of COVID-19 activity is Powell. Low activity is reported in the other counties.

More than 333,000 cases and more than 3,700 fatalities related to the virus have been confirmed in Montana since the first case was initially identified there in March 2020 in Lincoln County.

More than half of Montanans are thought to be fully immunized after 1.6 million doses of the vaccine have been distributed.

Up to mid-July, the dashboard will be accessible online. On the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data tracker website, users can now view COVID-19 data for Montana.
