Man injured after sliding down snowfield in Glacier National Park

A 32-year-old man from New York suffered a leg injury on Tuesday morning after losing his footing and sliding down a snowfield at Mount Oberlin in Glacier National Park.
The park announced the incident on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
GNP initiated a search and rescue and requested assistance from Two Bear Air Tuesday morning. The man was found with a non-life threatening leg injury and was transported by Two Bear Air to West Glacier and then Three Rivers ground ambulance to North Valley Hospital.
The park issued a reminder that snowfields are “particularly hazardous.” GNP encourages visitors who go into higher elevations to use extreme caution and have the appropriate skills and equipment to navigate those areas. Otherwise, the park says to wait until conditions improve before visiting.
