Man shot by Missoula resident has passed away

Missoula, Montana – On Sunday afternoon in Missoula, a man was shot by a resident on Brooks Street, and he has since passed away.
Just before 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Missoula police were called to the 300 block of Brooks Street for a burglary report.
According to Whitney Bennett, a spokeswoman for the Missoula Police Department, the homeowner came upon a man trying to enter the house.
Bennett claims that despite repeated warnings from the homeowner to halt, the man persisted in bursting through the exterior screen door to enter the house.
The man was then shot many times by the homeowner.
The man passed away after being brought to a hospital in Missoula.
The event is still under investigation by the Missoula Police Department.
