Sheriff in Belgrade recognizes guy found dead from bullet wounds

Bozeman, Montana – George Keyser Sobrepena, 76, of Belgrade, has been recognized by Sheriff/Coroner Dan Springer as the person who was shot and killed in a Belgrade trailer on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

A news release issued by the Sheriff/Coroner’s Office on Wednesday stated that an autopsy determined that the deceased person’s cause of death was numerous gunshot wounds.

Regarding the case, 42-year-old Heather Ann Harrington is accused of intentional killing. Harrington’s bail was set at $500,000. She appeared in Gallatin County Justice Court on Wednesday.

After reportedly guiding two construction workers to the trailer where Sobrepena lay dead, Harrington was taken into custody on Tuesday. Four fired shell casings that matched the handgun’s caliber and were discovered in Harrington’s pocket following her arrest, according to police, were discovered in addition to the evidence at the scene.

She also faces charges of tampering with evidence, and her next court date is November 24 in District Court.
