Sidney police investigating after man found dead in his residence

Sidney, Montana – A suspicious death is now being investigated as a murder by the Sidney Police Department as of Monday.
In a news statement, Chief Mark Kraft of the Sidney Police Department said that police were sent to do a welfare check at a residence in the 900 block of 3rd Street NW on Friday morning. Christopher Wetzstein, 50, was discovered dead inside his house by police officers who responded to the call. Kraft described the circumstances surrounding his death as “strange.”
An autopsy performed on Monday showed Wetzstein was murdered. Additional information was not released.
The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the department with its investigation.
