Suspicious Butte church fire under investigation

Butte, Montana – Suspicious fire that blazed at a Butte church on Friday morning will be investigated by the Butte Fire Department.

Around 7 a.m., fire crews received a call of a fire in the pre-school room at the Gold Hill Lutheran Church and they were immediately dispatched on Placer Street.

The blaze was quickly extinguished by the firefighters.

According to Butte Fire Marshal Zach Osborne, the fire was marked as very suspicious.

“No electricity was running to the part of the room, I have a good burn pattern, a good burn spot on the floor, so interviews are happening as we speak with police department, we’re searching cameras.”

No one was injured during the fire.
