The Main Fork Rock Creek Road 2421 on the Beartooth Ranger District will be under construction this summer

Red Lodge, Montana – This summer, work will begin to upgrade Glacier Lake/Main Fork Rock Creek FSR #2421 on the Beartooth Ranger District to increase road quality and safety for forest users.
Beginning July 20, there will be sporadic road closures from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Road grading works will be carried out prior to the main contract, which could lead to brief pauses and disturbances.
According to a press release from the Custer Gallatin National Forest, the contract is in effect until the end of the year, and local tourists are advised to anticipate persistent traffic delays.
“When completed, this much-anticipated road work will provide visitors with easier travel,” said Amy Haas, Acting District Ranger, “so that they can experience the impressive beauty of the Hellroaring Plateau and Glacier Lake Trailhead.”
The Glacier Lake/Main Fork Rock Creek FSR #2421 is crucial for movement in the forest, according to the Forest Service, and personnel are working quickly to finish the project while minimizing delays and putting safety first.
