Billings, Montana – With the help of the City and Yellowstone County, the new Coca-Cola Distribution and Manufacturing Center in Billings was built in order to boost Magic City’s economic prosperity.

When finished, the cutting-edge facility will provide more prospects for local employment, according to Joe Easton, director of property development at Coca-Cola Bottling Company High County.

“Right now, in our existing facility, there are 60 people that are working in the existing building in our initial plans because this facility will have a manufacturing component and will be to add over 50 jobs, so a significant increase in our economic activity and an increase of our employment base in Billings and in Yellowstone County.

The building, which was constructed for slightly over $25 million, is situated on 14 acres of land. Big Sky Economic Development Opportunity Fund contributed $250,000, the City of Billings contributed $250,000 and a tax abatement, and Yellowstone County contributed an extra tax abatement to build new water and sewer connections to the facility as part of the financial commitment.

“The extension of water and sewer will allow parcels that are within close proximity that previously were on well or septic to be able to attach and annexed into the city if they so choose, that adds to the tax base water quality and adds to the capacity of the city of Billings sewer system. it’s a significant investment on our part, there are many benefits in the near and long term for the city of Billings and Yellowstone County by expanding water and sewer to that location.”

Coca-Cola has been present in Billings and Yellowstone County for more than a century, according to Easton, and the investment in the facility demonstrates the company’s commitment to remaining in the Magic City for a very long time.

Joe claimed that the plant will be finished by September 2023 and would be fully operating by the beginning of January 2024.
