An increasingly popular podcast features Montana athletes

Billings, Montana – Based on his passion for sports and Montana, a Billings man made the decision three years ago to start a sports podcast to feature Montana athletes and coaches. “I’ve always loved sports, wasn’t able to play them as a kid myself,” Mitch Bohn, the man behind the microphone for the podcast Wide Left Sports, said Sunday.
Despite being in a wheelchair, Bohn continues to express his love of sports by talking about them.
“Whenever I was a kid, I do the ‘what do you want to be when you grow up’ and I would always put sports broadcaster,” Bohn said.
Bohn and his friend created the podcast at the beginning of COVID-19 to pass the time. Since his companion left the podcast, Bohn is now the one interviewing guests and co-editing the show. “I thought, let’s start interviewing Montana people. Getting Montana’s athletic ability out there more than it is,” he said.
Bohn wanted a platform to highlight all of the state’s abilities since she believes Montana’s athletes frequently go overlooked.
“It shows kids that are just starting out, that hey you can do these big things coming from Montana,” he said.
There are even some episodes that aren’t about sports where players and coaches discuss all things relating to sports. It has attracted more than 4,000 listeners in the past year.
“It’s really grown this last year and it’s made me want to keep going with it,” Bohn said.
Bohn advised visiting his website to get in touch with him if you’re interested in being interviewed for his podcast.
