Authorities identified the driver killed in a multi-vehicle collision on I-90

Billings, Montana – The identity of a Billings man who was killed in a collision involving several vehicles on Interstate 90 was made public on Friday by the Yellowstone County Coroner’s Office.
On Wednesday evening, Uwe Rolf Krahe, 59, was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier in the eastbound lanes of the highway when he was involved in a fatal car accident around mile marker 448. The car was struck from behind by a Ford Expedition, which was hit by a Dodge Ram pickup truck that failed to slow down as it approached a construction zone.
According to the reports from the Montana Highway Patrol, both the Expedition and the Cavalier lost control of their vehicles, and the pickup truck went on to collide with the rear of a semi-trailer.
The pickup driver sustained injuries while the driver of the Expedition a passenger and the driver of the semi managed to leave the scene of the accident unhurt.
The Montana Highway Patrol said speeding and impaired driving were contributing factors in the accident.
