Bonner bank robbery suspect taken into custody

Missoula, Montana – A man has been arrested and charged with robbery of the Trail West Bank branch in Bonner on Monday.

The suspect, who was described as a person wearing black clothing, left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in his possession. The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with a number of other agencies, launched an intensive search for the suspect after that.

Police were directed to the Seeley Lake area by information, according to Missoula County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jeanette Smith, who said the suspect was brought into custody without incident early Tuesday.

A tip by someone led officers to the Seeley Lake area, where the suspect was arrested without further incident.

The Missoula County Detention Facility was called to take custody of the individual, whose identity has not been disclosed. Smith said that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing and that there is no danger to public safety at this time.
