Bozeman man arrested after pointing a gun to several people

Bozeman, Montana – Officers on foot patrol in downtown Bozeman late Saturday night apprehended a man who allegedly threatened numerous people with a weapon, according to the Bozeman Police Department.
According to a post on the Bozeman PD Facebook page, officers were approached by a group of individuals who claimed the man had pulled out a gun and was threatening them.
Officers were able to immediately find the suspect in a nearby bar thanks to the victims’ detailed descriptions. The suspect was possessing a firearm when arrested, according to the Bozeman Police Department.
Following a thorough investigation, officers arrested the man for assault with a weapon and took him into the Gallatin County Detention Center. According to the post, the individual must make a mandatory appearance before a court before being released.
The Bozeman Police Department reminds the public that carrying a concealed firearm while under the influence of alcohol is illegal in Montana, according to MCA 45-8-327.
