Man arrested for DUI after trying to save his life

Laurel, Montana – After his car was shot at and he drove into a power pole in Laurel, a 29-year-old Laurel man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Christopher Ewing, 29, was taken into Yellowstone County jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Laurel police.
Around 6:30 p.m., dispatch got a report of reckless driving in the 900 block of Piper Loop, which was presumably from Ewing.
According to Laurel police, as he was on the phone, another car opened fire on him, striking his vehicle as well as many others in the neighborhood. Bullets did not strike any individuals or buildings.
According to authorities, Ewing fled and crashed into a power pole in the 2200 block of West Maryland Lane, where he was arrested.
According to police, the encounter was prompted by an allegation of domestic violence on Piper Loop, and an investigation is underway, with additional charges pending.
