Man hospitalized after a fire broke out at a duplex in Billings

Billings, Montana – A man was brought to the hospital after a fire broke out at a duplex on Aristocrat Dr. early Thursday morning.
According to the Billings Fire Department, the fire caused significant damage to a number of basement rooms, and extensive smoke damage was seen throughout the remainder of the house’s basement and first floor.
On the opposite side of the duplex, there was some minor smoke damage.
Fortunately, two men and one woman were able to escape, and one of the men was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.
A cat did not survive the blaze, and a dog was taken in by animal control until the owner arrived home.
Property and content losses are now estimated to be worth $165,000 at this time.
There is an investigation underway to determine what caused the fire.
